What is Holistic Voice Therapy?

Holistic Voice Therapy is a branch of Sound Therapy which involves the use of voice, breath, visualisation and gentle movement to help balance the energy systems in your body and promote health, healing and well-being.

Experience a healing and balancing sound treatment. Learn simple yet transformative techniques that will enhance the positive effect and continue the healing process between treatments and beyond.

What to Expect

All treatments are hands-off. You are awake and aware at all times.

  • Brief chat and taking of short case history.
  • On the treatment couch, your body is scanned with sound to find areas of imbalance.
  • Healing tones of Himalayan bowls and voice are directed first to these areas and then in the ‘sound-wash’ over your whole body.
  • You are gently brought back to earth with soft sounding rattles and rainsticks.

  • A more detailed case history is taken.
  • On the treatment couch, your body is scanned with sound to find areas of imbalance.
  • Healing tones of Himalayan bowls and voice are directed first to these areas and then in the ‘sound-wash’ over your whole body.
  • You are gently brought back to earth with soft sounding rattles and rainsticks.
  • You are led through breathing and gentle movement exercises and are shown how to use your own voice as a healing tool.
  • You are given exercises for self-treatment between sessions.

Group Sessions

Group sessions can be arranged for a single occasion or for a series of progressive workshops lasting up to six weeks. The sessions are both relaxing and refreshing, and are designed to help reduce the stress of everyday living.

Sessions will include:

  • Tuning into and becoming aware of your own body, mind and spirit and their respective needs.
  • Breathing for relaxation and to reduce stress.
  • Gentle warm-up exercises for voice and body.
  • Toning. This is the singing of single vowel sounds for specific reasons (try ‘Sonic Caffeine’ or a ‘Sonic Cuddle’) and also as an exercise to benefit your complete energy system.
  • The combination of toning and gentle ‘Tai Chi’ type exercises.
