Banyan Retreat Healers Course

Our two year Certified Spiritual Healing course is fully compliant with guidelines laid out by the Alliance of Healers Association and UK Healers. Here at Banyan Retreat we have achieved Stage Four Accreditation for our course which ensures that we are compliant with the most current standards recommended by the associations we are accredited by.

What Is Spiritual Healing?

Spiritual Healing is a natural energy therapy. It complements conventional medicine by treating the whole person - mind, body and spirit. Spiritual Healers act as a conduit for healing energy, often described as 'love and light' which relaxes the body, releases tensions and stimulates self-healing. The benefits of healing can be felt on many levels, not just the physical, and the effects can be profound.

Spiritual Healing is not Faith Healing. The term 'Faith Healing' implies that the recipient needs to believe in a deity and that that deity is the source of healing. Spiritual Healing is not linked to a particular religion. Faith by the patient is not required and healing can help people regardless of their religious beliefs.

Healing energy is all around us. In essence it is 'universal' - part of nature itself. It is available for everyone to use for the greatest good. Healers learn to use their ability to tap into this natural energy and pass it on.

Depending upon their individual beliefs some healers and recipients see the energy as divine; others see it as pure universal energy. It is often visualised as simply 'love and light'.

Healers who belong to Banyan Retreat Healers complete a two-year comprehensive programme of training, practice and development as Student Members before they are eligible to be considered for Healer Membership.

All Banyan Retreat Healers are insured for the protection of the public.

Banyan Retreat Healers members are bound by a Code of Conduct which sets standards for practicing healer members and which acts as a reference on those standards for the public.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Banyan Retreat Healers Training Course enables students to explore and understand the principles and practice of healing. It also serves to support the personal spiritual growth of the individual, who is developing as a channel for healing energies. The course provides ample opportunity to ask questions and for practical workshop experience under the guidance of our well established professional healers - tutors.

Although the course covers a two year period it is only necessary for students to attend each of the four training day modules once throughout the two year period. They must also regularly attend practice sessions as often as their personal schedule permits (normally on a Wednesday Evening).

UK Healers

UKH

UK Healers was a development group of various Organisations who recognised the need for self regulation in respect of Spiritual Healing. We have joined together in light of the House of Lords Select Committee Report on Complementary and Alternate Therapies.

The main emphasis from the House of Lords Report was that each therapy should be self-regulatory, rather than having so many different organisations working separately. The concept of the UK Healers Regulatory Body is not to take over Organisations but to formulate common Basic Standards of Good Practice, so that all organisations are working along the same lines for the benefit of the general public.

UK Healers Self-Regulatory Body is now very active. It now has a Constitution and the Policy Making Body is very much in operation and reviewing a number of issues and looking at the Standards in light of various cases which have been brought to their attention.
